Advise if you can, we have a 98s type with 69k on it and in morning on start up after idle comes down there is a faint ticking noise for about 30 seconds, almost sounds like lifter but the noise is up front, can timing chains do this, or am i overlooking something.

If it is a V8, then pull valve covers and inspect upper chain tensioners for missing plastic where the chains run over and under. Common problem on earlier V8s. Best to replace all chains ,tensioners and chain guides to cover thine a..... Phil

pistons fill up with oil and take up the slack.
